PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mikal Helio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mr Mustard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mustard comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Beat it kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Matti Vanhoillinen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mustard misses with a wild body shot.
Mustard fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Helio avoids it really well and circles away.

Helio closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Mustard sneaks back into half guard.
Mustard moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Helio throws a big right hand that misses.
Mustard is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Mustard takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Mustard misses with a head shot. Helio uses the momentum to regain guard.

Helio is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Mustard is aware though and is defending well.

Mustard got a little sloppy there for a moment and Helio has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mustard has managed to get both his arms back between Helio's legs - danger averted.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Helio pulls Mustard in close to prevent any damage.

Mustard makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Mustard covers up after that shot from Helio.
Helio lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Mustard.
Helio doesn't have the hooks in and Mustard manages to turn into his guard.

Mustard passes Helio's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Helio is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Mustard scores with a couple of nice shots.
Helio is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Helio has his foot on Mustard's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mustard works his way back into a safe position though.

Helio escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mustard gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Mustard must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Helio is looking for a triangle here but Mustard uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Helio is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Mr Mustard will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Helio cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Mustard is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Mustard takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

The cut above Mr Mustard's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Mr Mustard's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Mr Mustard's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
