Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dwight Elkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bret Hart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Elkins comes to the cage accompanied by Care Bear Countdown. Hart comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Vertigo - U2 kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dwight Elkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 6 - 1, fighting out of New York, Bret Hart!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Columbo Gatti and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Elkins attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Hart looks to throw the jab but Elkins is out of range.
Elkins takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Hart throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Bret Hart seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hart lands a lovely overhand right.
Elkins scores with a push kick.
A slapping body kick lands there for Elkins.
An inside leg kick from Elkins misses.
Hart on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Elkins throws a leg kick but Hart sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Hart throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Elkins throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hart's waist but Hart gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Elkins off to one side.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hart walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.


It looks like Bret Hart has been cut.
A solid body kick from Elkins.
Elkins blocks a leg kick.
A nice leg kick lands there from Elkins.
Hart misses with an uppercut. Elkins saw that one coming.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Elkins looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Elkins throws out a leg kick but Hart moves out of range and Elkins only half commits.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Hart crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Elkins - the referee stops the clock and Hart gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Elkins. Hart manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Hart looks gassed!
Hart takes a swing at Elkins's ribcage but misses.
Elkins feints and then cracks Hart's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Hart down.
A thudding body kick lands there by Elkins!

Elkins drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Elkins distracts Hart with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Elkins content to stall in guard here.
Hart is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Elkins is controlling him.
Elkins content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Hart keeping moving, preventing Elkins from controlling successfully.

Hart bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Elkins's guard.
Hart must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Hart throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Elkins lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Hart!
Elkins has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Elkins lands a big elbow.
Elkins postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Hart looks a forlorn figure.
Elkins lands a nice shot to the head.
Elkins tries to control but Hart wriggling away.
Elkins controlling the pace for now.

Elkins looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Elkins lands a big shot there that rocks Hart but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Hart wants to control but Elkins is having none of it.
Hart is bucking up trying to escape but Elkins cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hart is desperately trying to improve his position but Elkins has a good base and remains in mount.
Elkins trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Elkins lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Elkins cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hart gets back to half guard.
Hart trying to control from the bottom.
The fighters are battling for position here. Hart manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Elkins wants to pass the guard but Hart is keeping the position.
Elkins trying to control the position from guard on top but Hart is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Elkins got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hart has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Elkins has managed to get both his arms back between Hart's legs - danger averted.

Hart looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Elkins trying to control the position from guard on top but Hart is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hart can't keep his opponent in guard - Elkins advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Elkins working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Bret Hart's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Elkins throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Elkins connects with a solid leg kick.
Elkins walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Hart checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Hart takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Hart blocks the body kick.
Hart changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Elkins tries to avoid it but Hart manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Elkins to the ground. Elkins escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Elkins, right into the meat.
Elkins throws a low kick but Hart avoids it.
An inside leg kick from Elkins misses.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hart is defended easily by Elkins.
Elkins connects with a solid leg kick.
Hart looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
A head kick from Elkins lands but Hart takes it in his stride.

Elkins avoids the body shot from Hart.
Elkins throws the kick towards the body but Hart avoids it.
A slow jab from Hart misses its intended target.
Elkins scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Elkins misses with a kick to the body.
Elkins pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Elkins avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Elkins staying out of range there.
Elkins walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Elkins pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Elkins throws a leg kick
and Hart cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Elkins tries to work over Hart's front leg with a kick but Hart checks it.
Hart is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Elkins.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Elkins.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Elkins, right into the meat.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hart missing with a left hand there. Elkins was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Elkins misses with a takedown attempt - Hart sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Elkins lands a leg kick that knocks Hart off balance momentarily.
Elkins is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hart can do to turn this around?

Hart throws a poor cross that misses

and Elkins counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Hart is breathing heavily.
Elkins working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Hart moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Elkins is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Hart is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Elkins dives into side control.
Hart is trying to improve his position.

Elkins is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Hart looks calm but he's in trouble here. Elkins gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Hart is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Elkins lets go of the hold and Hart can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Dwight Elkins!
