The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Surfer throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Marshland was covering up waiting for the punch and Surfer finishes the takedown easily into guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Surfer accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Marshland is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Surfer is controlling him.
Surfer with a flurry of punches that miss.
Surfer trying to control but Marshland is working from the bottom.
Surfer trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Surfer throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Marshland works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Surfer wants to control from the top but Marshland keeps moving.

Marshland manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Surfer shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Marshland's guard.

Marshland pushes Surfer off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Marshland is not content to let Surfer control the position.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close second round but I would say that Joe Surfer will probably get the nod.
