Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between George Kennedy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Al Capone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, George Kennedy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Al Capone!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Hirohito Nitta and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kennedy is looking to slow Capone down with leg kicks.
Capone throws a quick inside leg kick.
Capone misses with a body kick.
Capone has a takedown stuffed.
Capone checks the leg kick.
Kennedy connects with the punch.
Capone moves out of range as Kennedy throws a body kick.
Capone scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Kennedy throws a head kick that half lands.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Capone misses the jab.
Kennedy throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Kennedy steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Capone.
Capone throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Kennedy avoids a punch combination nicely.
Capone takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

and Kennedy counters with a series of strikes. Capone will be more careful next time no doubt.
Al Capone seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Capone shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kennedy pinned against the cage. Kennedy gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Kennedy throws a right and a left that both miss.
Capone takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

and Kennedy counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Capone throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Capone moves out of range of the body kick from Kennedy.
Kennedy tries to close the distance and clinch but Capone swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Kennedy lands with a kick to the ribs.
Capone throws a right and a left that Kennedy avoids nicely.
Kennedy finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Capone pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Kennedy.
Capone connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Kennedy displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Capone throws out the jab.
Kennedy shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Kennedy fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Kennedy lands a nice looking body kick.

Kennedy connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Capone momentarily.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Capone lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Kennedy has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Kennedy and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Capone scores with a hook to the body. Kennedy takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Capone crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Kennedy - the referee stops the clock and Capone gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Kennedy. Capone manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Capone lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Capone keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Kennedy lands a really nice looking cross but Capone seems unphased.

Kennedy throws a leg kick which misses Capone's front leg but catches the back leg as Capone tries to avoid it.

Kennedy seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Capone is staying active underneath Kennedy, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Capone looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kennedy is fending him off so far but Capone persists. Nope, Kennedy circles away and we're back to standing.

Capone throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kennedy's waist but Kennedy gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Capone off to one side.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kennedy throws a front kick aimed at Capone's knee but Capone avoids it well.
Capone lands a glancing blow to the side of Kennedy's head.

and Kennedy counters with a thumping low kick.
Capone tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kennedy swats him away and circles back towards the center.

No luck for Capone with that takedown attempt.
George Kennedy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Al Capone.
Capone throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Kennedy stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Kennedy rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Capone moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Kennedy throws a head kick that misses.
Capone ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kennedy moves away.
Kennedy chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Capone can pounce on him.
Capone on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Kennedy throws a head kick but Capone moves out of range.
Capone lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kennedy connects with a body shot that sends Capone's belly button to the back.
Kennedy lands a high kick!


Capone is rocked!
Capone shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kennedy defends it nicely.
Capone is still on wobbly legs! Can Kennedy finish him?
Kennedy lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Capone head around and knocks him out cold! Kennedy hops onto the cage and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.
