Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Atlas Klaat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Justin Herald (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Justin Herald!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Felipe Paraventi and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big left from Herald misses.
Klaat wants to clinch.
Klaat throws a head kick but Herald moves out of range.
Klaat scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Herald throws a head kick that misses
and Klaat counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Klaat takes a swing at Herald's ribcage but misses.
Klaat looks to score with a jab to the body but Herald is just out of range.
Herald keeps the fight on the outside.
Klaat lands a head kick. Herald smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Klaat throws a big shot that misses.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Herald misses with a right hand
and Klaat counters with a straight right hand.
Herald moves forwards but Klaat connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Herald throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Klaat dodges the punch combination from Herald.
Klaat throws a head kick but Herald moves out of range.
Klaat lands a jab to the head.
Klaat is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Herald has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Klaat.
A telegraphed right hand from Herald misses the target.
Herald tries a head kick but it misses.
Klaat just misses with a punch to the body.
Klaat is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
A slapping leg kick lands for Klaat.
Herald lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Herald will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Klaat uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Herald.
Herald scores with the left hand. Klaat knows he should have avoided that one.


It looks like Atlas Klaat has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

and Klaat counters with a good low kick that Herald was not able to check.
Herald moves out of range of the body kick from Klaat.
Herald on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Klaat. Klaat obviously looking to wear him down.
Herald throws a low kick but Klaat moves out of range easily.
Herald misses with a two punch combination.
Herald misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Klaat lands a nice looking kick to the body. Herald takes a step back to recover.
Justin Herald seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A looping hook to the body misses from Klaat. Herald does a little dance to reset his feet.
Klaat misses with a straight left.
Klaat misses with a two punch combination.
Herald swinging wildly here.
Herald throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Klaat sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Klaat fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Herald manages to avoid it.
Herald moves out of range as Klaat strikes.
Klaat lands with a thumping leg kick.
Klaat on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Herald. Herald obviously looking to wear him down.
Klaat throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Herald lands with a nice body punch.
Klaat is breathing heavily.

Herald cracks Klaat with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Klaat looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Herald finish him?
Herald throws a right and a left that both miss.

Herald is looking to land body kicks.
Herald cracks Klaat with an open hand slap.
Klaat misses the shot to the body.
Herald throws a shot from downtown. Klaat moves away and avoids it.
Herald jabs Klaat to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Herald misses with a few strikes there.
Herald misses with a hook. Klaat ducked under it nicely.
Herald throws a series of punches but Klaat avoids them all with ease.
Herald dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Herald throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Herald throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Herald avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Herald drops Klaat with a beautiful combination! Klaat stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Herald is looking for the KO!


Klaat is rocked!
Herald throws the kick towards the body but Klaat avoids it.
Oh Klaat is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Klaat slips a straight right by Herald.
Klaat bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Klaat seems to have got his legs back now.
Klaat throws a head kick but Herald moves out of range.
Herald blocks a head kick by Klaat.
Klaat connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Herald's hands.
Herald drops Klaat with a straight right hand, right on the button! Herald follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Justin Herald!
In his post fight interview, Justin Herald started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
