The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shaunessey fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Vernius, pushing him back against the ropes.
Shaunessey using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Vernius has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Vernius is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the ropes enables Shaunessey to keep the fight standing.

The ref is looking closely - Vernius is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Vernius is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
