Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Perrin Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ezra Ray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ray throws a looping overhand right but Jones ducks down to avoid it.
Ray ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Ray misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Jones.
Ezra Ray seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd cheers as Jones lands an impressive looking overhand right. Ray doesn't seem phased though.

Ray throws the kick towards the body but Jones avoids it.
Jones throws a leg kick which misses Ray's front leg but catches the back leg as Ray tries to avoid it.

Jones steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Ray.

Jones cracks Ray with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
A jab from Ray finds it's way through Jones's defenses.
Ray rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Jones counters with a nice uppercut.

Ray throws a series of punches but Jones moves out of range.
Ray throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Ray rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jones moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Ray throws a big shot that misses.

and Ray takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Jones shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Ray manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Jones trying to control but Ray is working from the bottom.
Jones is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Ray is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Jones is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Ray is pulling down on Jones's head. It's preventing any offense from Jones, at least for the moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Perrin Jones wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Jones jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Ray throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Ray avoids the body shot from Jones.
Jones throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Ezra Ray is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Ray pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jones listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.

Jones tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ray sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jones somewhat.

Jones swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Ray throws a leg kick which misses Jones's front leg but catches the back leg as Jones tries to avoid it.
Jones shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ray defends it nicely.
Jones throws a jab when Ray was well out of range.
Jones takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Ray lands a big head kick that sends Jones tumbling to the mat! Ray takes a step backwards and waves Jones back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Jones is rocked!
A left lands for Jones.
Oh Jones is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Jones is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Ray scores with a hook.
Jones slips a jab and a cross from Ray.
Jones throws a right and a left that both miss.
Ray tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

and Jones counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Jones seems to have got his legs back now.
Ray throws a shot from downtown. Jones moves away and avoids it.
Ray dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Ray drops Jones with a straight right hand, right on the button! Ray follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ezra Ray!
