Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Karl De Groot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrick Plo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Plo has chosen ISIS - Grinning Mouths as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Groot staying out of range there.

Plo takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
De Groot throws a leg kick but Plo moved away.
Plo lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Plo might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Plo is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
De Groot throws a hook to the side of Plo's head but Plo sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Plo throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck De Groot on the side of the head.
De Groot fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Plo has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

De Groot throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Plo is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! De Groot had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

De Groot throws a low kick but Plo avoids it.
Plo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. De Groot tries to avoid it but Plo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag De Groot to the ground. De Groot escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Plo takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Plo changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. De Groot looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That was a close second round but I would say that Karl De Groot will probably get the nod.

Plo steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from De Groot. That one must have hurt.
Plo takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
De Groot closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Plo! De Groot dives in looking to finish! Plo is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

Karl De Groot decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
