Hang out the stars in Indiana kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Shukri Hakala could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Sami Hyypia's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hakala fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Hakala ducks under a wild hook from Hyypia.
Hyypia scores with a jab to the head.
Shukri Hakala seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hakala shoots for a double leg takedown but Hyypia sprawls well. He's pushed Hakala's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Hyypia feints a jab promting Hakala to slip. Hyypia then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Hakala slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

It looks like Shukri Hakala has been cut.
Hakala closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hyypia circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shukri Hakala. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hakala changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hyypia looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Hakala fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Hyypia really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hakala. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Hakala is trying to get an arm triangle but Hyypia is defending well.
Hyypia regains half guard, as Hakala was trying to land strikes.
