PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kurt Kendall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brad Ronald (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Kendall might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Kool Moe Dee - I Go To Work. Brad Ronald will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kurt Kendall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brad Ronald!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Jorge Garcia and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kendall scores with a jab. Ronald acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Ronald gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Kendall counters with a nice uppercut.
Ronald tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Kendall connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Ronald rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kendall moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
A swing and a miss from Kendall.
Ronald keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kendall.

Ronald wants to clinch up but Kendall keeps it at a distance.

Ronald has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Kendall finds it's way round the side to connect with Ronald's head.

Ronald bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Ronald just misses with a elbow thrown towards Kendall's brow.
Ronald swings wildly with an uppercut but Kendall uses good head movement to avoid it.
Kendall wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Ronald has him pressed against the cage.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

That was a close round but I would say that Kurt Kendall will probably get the nod.

Brad Ronald showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kurt Kendall.
