The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Johnson.

Johnson throws a body punch but Brock moves out of range.
Johnson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
No luck for Brock with that takedown attempt.
Johnson throws a series of punches but Brock moves out of range.

Johnson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Brock moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Johnson shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Brock eats them both and turns towards Johnson to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Brock. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Brock dives in and grabs Johnson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Johnson pushes down on Brock's head and hops out.
Johnson throws a chopping leg kick but Brock manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Brock slips a jab and a cross from Johnson.
Johnson has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Brock tries for a takedown but Johnson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Brock shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Johnson moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Brock tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Johnson swivels and escapes.
Johnson misses with an uppercut

and Brock counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Johnson!
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Brock is working for a guillotine from mount but Johnson frees his head quite easily.
Johnson is looking to get to half guard.

Brock jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Johnson manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Johnson keeping his opponent close.
Johnson is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Brock is controlling him well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Johnson is looking to regain half guard here but Brock keeps moving and retains side control.
Johnson is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Brock tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Brock advances to mount.
Johnson is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Brock is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Johnson is surviving well by controlling Brock's body position as best he can.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Johnson really wants to buck Brock off and get back to his feet.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Johnson, as that shot connected.

Johnson scores with a decent looking hook.
Jack Johnson seems to be getting the better of the standup.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Brock bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Brock looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Johnson is fending him off so far but Brock persists. Nope, Johnson circles away and we're back to standing.
Johnson throws a low kick but it's checked well by Brock.
Johnson throws a right hand that Brock ducks under and follows up with a left that Brock also avoids with ease.
A combination from Johnson does no damage.

Brock shoots in but no luck this time.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Edward Charles Brock has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Johnson's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Johnson duly obliges.
