And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jeff Williams!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Singh takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Singh on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Williams misses with a head kick.
Williams throws a leg kick
and Singh counters with a low kick, right behind Williams 's knee.

Williams scores a takedown into full mount!
Singh is in all sorts of trouble here.
Williams thowing shots but they're missing.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Singh is wriggling around trying to escape.
Williams misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Williams working for a submission but Singh is keeping him at bay.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Singh wants to control but Williams is having none of it.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Williams throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Singh because Williams loaded up on that one.

Singh is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Singh is squirming around, avoiding Williams's attempts to control the action.
Williams looking to finish with strikes here!
Williams moves to back control.
Singh rolls, trying to escape but Williams keeps control of the position.
Singh turns into Williams and is now in his guard.
Singh sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Singh tries to free his leg and advance position but Williams is retaining full guard.
Williams keeping moving, preventing Singh from controlling successfully.
Williams keeping full guard, as Singh tries to pass.
Williams trying to keep a closed guard but Singh is proving a slippery customer.

Williams is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Singh is aware though and is defending well.
Singh wants to control from the top but Williams keeps moving.

Williams has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Singh can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Arshad Singh has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Singh pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Williams takes a swing at Singh's ribcage but misses.
Jeff Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Singh misses the shot to the body.
Arshad Singh is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Singh throws a nice outside leg kick.

Williams shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Singh manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Singh pulls Williams in to control the position.

Williams avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

The ref stands the fighters back up because Arshad Singh just wasn't active enough.
Williams gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Williams shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
An inside leg kick lands from Singh.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Singh tries a head kick but it misses.

Singh lands a big head kick that sends Williams tumbling to the mat! Singh takes a step backwards and waves Williams back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Williams is rocked!


It looks like Jeff Williams has been cut.
Singh feints with a left and delivers a massive head kick! Williams collapses like a ragdoll! Game over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Arshad Singh!
Arshad Singh retains his lightweight title!
