PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ron Lemieux (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Judo Master (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ron Lemieux!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Judo Master!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Alec Ball and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Master shoots and misses
and Lemieux counters with an inside leg kick.

Lemieux shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Master manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Lemieux really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Lemieux content to stall in guard here.

Master is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Lemieux postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Master can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Lemieux controls the pace.

Master isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Lemieux stacks Master on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Lemieux!
Master is looking to regain half guard here but Lemieux keeps moving and retains side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Master tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Lemieux scores with a couple of short elbows.
Master is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Lemieux's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Lemieux has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Lemieux has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Lemieux content just to control the position here.
Lemieux fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Master is looking to improve his position but Lemieux isn't that keen on the idea.

Lemieux is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Master to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Master shrugs it off.

Lemieux cracks Master with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

The referee warns Master that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Lemieux lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Lemieux has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Master's face.
Lemieux tries to control but Master wriggling away.

BOOM! Lemieux connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Lemieux prevents Master from getting the reversal.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Master is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Lemieux sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Lemieux lands a nice shot to the head.
Lemieux is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Master can't stay in a position like this for much longer.


Master is rocked!
Lemieux postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Master looks a forlorn figure.
Master is still in real trouble! Can Lemieux finish him?
Master tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Lemieux loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Master scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Lemieux land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Lemieux stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ron Lemieux!
