Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Leo Sarsola (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mohamed al Hadj (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sarsola comes to the cage accompanied by Mono - 16.12. al Hadj is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Lebanon. Mohamed al Hadj will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Roosa Järviläinen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sarsola chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before al Hadj can pounce on him.
al Hadj tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Sarsola lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
al Hadj lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
al Hadj swings and misses with a hook to the body.
al Hadj tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Sarsola thuds his right hand into al Hadj's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.


It looks like Mohamed al Hadj has been cut.
Sarsola uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from al Hadj.
Sarsola tries a head kick but it misses.

al Hadj throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Sarsola's head.
Sarsola moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sarsola shoots in for a takedown but al Hadj shows good takedown defense.
al Hadj fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Sarsola manages to avoid it.
al Hadj throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Sarsola throws a low kick but al Hadj moves out of range easily.

Sarsola shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

al Hadj really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sarsola. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
al Hadj tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
al Hadj landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
al Hadj using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Sarsola has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Sarsola manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
al Hadj is looking to work some ground and pound but Sarsola has wrist control.
al Hadj must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sarsola is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

al Hadj is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Let's hope that al Hadj has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Sarsola is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
al Hadj has momentary wrist control but Sarsola slips an elbow through the middle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
