Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jethro Gibbs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Boo Estep (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jethro Gibbs has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jethro Gibbs!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Boo Estep!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Donatello Bradman and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gibbs gets tackled into the cage by Estep. Estep maintains the clinch.

Estep is trying to trip Gibbs. He has hold of a leg but Gibbs is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Estep persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Estep looking to sit in guard and control but Gibbs gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Estep working a defensive guard here.
Estep keeping full guard, as Gibbs tries to pass.
Gibbs throws a big right hand that misses.
Gibbs wants to pass the guard but Estep is keeping the position.

Estep looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Gibbs has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Estep manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Estep can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Gibbs is looking to escape.

Gibbs could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Estep goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Gibbs turns into him and now he's in Estep's guard.

Estep isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Gibbs stacks Estep on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Gibbs!
Estep manages to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gibbs is trying to control the action in half guard but Estep is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Estep is on the bottom, trying to hold on to half guard. He's throwing a few small shots here, to keep his opponent honest.

Estep looking for a kimura from the bottom but Gibbs passes into side control!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gibbs cracks Estep with a big right hand but Estep just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Estep tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Gibbs wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Gibbs trying to control the position but Estep is working away.

Gibbs decides to stand back up. Gibbs steps back and let's Estep get back to his feet.
Gibbs avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Gibbs darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Estep looks gassed!
Estep wants to improve his position but Gibbs is controlling well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ground and pound from Gibbs.
Gibbs thows a huge punch but Estep dodges it nicely.
Estep is trying to control but Gibbs manages to pass to mount!
Estep manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Estep is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Estep looking for submissions off his back.
Gibbs tries to stand but can't do so whilst Estep controls his leg.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Gibbs is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Estep doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gibbs.

Estep actively working from the bottom here.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Estep taking a bit of punishment here - Gibbs scoring with strikes.
Gibbs lands a few punches from side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Boo Estep will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!



Gibbs clinches.
Gibbs tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Estep's elbow.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Estep fails to pull guard.

Estep turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Estep manages to end up in side control.
Gibbs pushes Estep away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Estep gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Gibbs is looking for a sweep.
Gibbs takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Gibbs sneaks back into half guard.
Estep working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Gibbs striking from the bottom.

Estep is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Gibbs is just riding it out for now. Estep eventually gives up the hold.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Estep looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Gibbs with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Estep escapes and gets back to his feet.

Gibbs drives through with a takedown into Estep's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Estep is breathing heavily.
Estep keeping full guard, as Gibbs tries to pass.

Estep is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Gibbs defends well.
Gibbs chips away with some ground and pound.
Gibbs trying to control but Estep is working from the bottom.
Boo Estep has got the better of the ground game so far.

Estep preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Estep wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Gibbs is now in half guard.

Gibbs is pressing down on Estep's thigh, looking to free his foot. Estep is holding on for now.
Gibbs winds up and cracks Estep with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Gibbs trying to control the pace.
Gibbs throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Gibbs works his foot free and advances to mount.
Gibbs raining down hammerfists from mount.

Gibbs lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Gibbs landing punches.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gibbs lands a big elbow.


Estep is rocked!
Gibbs loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Estep scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Gibbs land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Gibbs stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jethro Gibbs!
