Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Winston Howard and Damien Edna.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lovell tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ryan was well out of range. Poor timing from Lovell.
Ryan gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

It looks like Derrick Ryan has been cut.
Lovell tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ryan swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Lovell lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Ryan bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ryan creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Lovell bucks up and tries to throw Ryan off but instead Ryan has got his back!
Ryan doesn't have the hooks in and Lovell manages to turn into his guard.

Ryan could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Ryan is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lovell defends well.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Zack Lovell was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Ryan takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Ryan scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Ryan shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Ryan was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Lovell is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Ryan is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Lovell can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Lovell takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ryan with shots to the head and body - Lovell looks very uncomfortable down there.

Ryan looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Lovell can't escape the position.

Lovell tries to buck Ryan off but he can't manage it.

You get the feeling that Lovell really doesn't like being in this position too much.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Lovell slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Lovell on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Ryan wants to work for an arm triangle but Lovell is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Lovell tries a head kick but it misses.

Horrible takedown by Lovell or perhaps it was just good defense by Ryan which made him look bad.
Ryan shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Lovell as he avoids it easily.

Zack Lovell seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Ryan throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Derrick Ryan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ryan scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Ryan drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Ryan seems to have locked his on tight now - Lovell screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Ryan, as he picks up the win!

Derrick Ryan really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Saving Grace Clothing logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
