Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Fonzo The Grappler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Norris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fonzo The Grappler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Norris!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Cecil Peabody and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Grappler shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Norris but Norris pushes him off and we're back to square one.
The Grappler closes this distance looking for a takedown but Norris circles away.

Norris gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Norris has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but The Grappler can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Norris had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. The Grappler is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Norris Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take The Grappler's back instead.
The Grappler tries to escape the position.

Norris looking to break The Grappler's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. The Grappler remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Norris will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

The Grappler won't allow Norris to sweep him here.

The Grappler is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The Grappler trying to control the position from guard on top but Norris is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Norris throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Norris has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but The Grappler has passed into side control.
The Grappler trying to control the position but Norris is working away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Norris manages to work his way to half guard, despite The Grappler's best efforts.
The Grappler is looking to take a break and control but Norris is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Norris looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Norris is looking for a sweep. The Grappler is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Norris is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but The Grappler pulls his head out easily.
Norris wants to get back to full guard.

Norris looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Norris looks gassed!

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

The Grappler darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Norris is in trouble now - The Grappler has advanced to mount!

The Grappler looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Norris is wriggling around trying to escape.
Norris regains half guard.
Norris makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Norris.

Norris working for a triangle but The Grappler defends it easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Norris tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Norris is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. The Grappler defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

The Grappler is trying to defend against the choke here but Norris has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Norris Tightens the hold and The Grappler taps out furiously! Norris displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
