The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Povetkin avoids it really well and circles away.
Povetkin misses with a straight left.
Povetkin pushes Williams away with a front kick.
Williams tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Povetkin swivels and escapes.
Povetkin thows a body shot but no joy.
Williams has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Povetkin.
Povetkin throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Williams stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Williams gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Povetkin.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Povetkin cracks a nice hook into Williams's ribs.
Williams tries to clinch up but Povetkin circles away and keeps his distance.
Povetkin lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Williams fails with a takedown attempt.
Alexander Povetkin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brian Williams.
Povetkin tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Williams was well out of range. Poor timing from Povetkin.

and Williams counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Povetkin is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Williams takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Williams doesn't manage to clinch there - Povetkin circles away.
Povetkin works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Povetkin lands a jab to the nose.
Povetkin connects with a solid leg kick.
Alexander Povetkin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Povetkin lands with an uppercut that bounces Williams off the cage and back into range.
Williams looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Williams is trying desperately to land a takedown but Povetkin is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Williams.

Povetkin scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Povetkin throws a hook to the side of Williams's head but Williams sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Williams tries for a takedown but Povetkin sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Williams will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Povetkin stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Povetkin wants it to stay on the feet.
Williams needs to keep his hands up - Povetkin had a free shot at his head there.

Williams is rocked!
Povetkin seems to be stalking Williams here. He circles momentarily and then unleashes a devastatic head kick! Williams drops like a stone, out cold! WOW! Are you kidding me!? What a knockout!
