The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Davenport scores with a takedown into Gracie's guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Gracie looking for a guillotine here but Davenport defends easily.

Davenport postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Gracie is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Davenport has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gracie is on top in guard.

Davenport controls Gracie momentarily but Gracie frees himself.

Gracie working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Davenport doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Davenport manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Gracie is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Davenport is looking to work some ground and pound but Gracie has wrist control.
Davenport slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Davenport lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Gracie has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Davenport should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Gracie has tightened it up now! Davenport should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
