Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jake Shields (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Stone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stone has chosen SWEET JANE as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jake Shields!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ben Stone!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shields gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Stone.
Stone misses with a body kick.
Stone fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Shields.
Shields looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Ben Stone seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shields uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Stone.
Stone lands with a nice body punch.
Shields avoids a punch combination nicely.
Stone looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Stone fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Shields manages to avoid it.
Nice takedown defense from Stone. No joy for Shields on that attempt.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Shields crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Stone - the referee stops the clock and Shields gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Stone. Shields manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Stone fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Shields looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Stone connects with a crisp jab.
Stone feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Shields's calf.
Shields shoots in for a double leg but Stone sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake Shields. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Shields misses with a takedown attempt
and Stone counters with a nice low kick that buckles Shields's knee momentarily.
Stone digs a good hook to Shields's body.
Shields is breathing heavily.
Stone scores with a crisp jab that stopped Shields in his tracks.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Stone cracks Shields with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Stone misses with a body kick.
Stone scores with a kick to the body.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Shields. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Stone throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Stone lands a big head kick that sends Shields tumbling to the mat! Stone takes a step backwards and waves Shields back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Jake Shields has been cut.

Stone drops Shields with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Shields looks back up at him and smiles so Stone waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

and Stone counters with a body kick that stops Shields in his tracks momentarily.
Oh Shields is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Stone walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Shields drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Stone swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Shields's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
