Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Maximus Overdrive (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Iqbal Al Mamood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Al Mamood has chosen Mamute Pequenino as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Iqbal Al Mamood!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Hugh Johnson and Bruno Hogan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Al Mamood swinging wildly here.
Iqbal Al Mamood seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Overdrive rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Al Mamood moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Al Mamood throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Al Mamood misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

No joy there for Overdrive, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

You can see the frustration on Overdrive's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Al Mamood lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Al Mamood uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Overdrive.

Overdrive escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Al Mamood gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Overdrive is looking to stand up but Al Mamood isn't so interested in that idea.

Overdrive has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Al Mamood is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Overdrive.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Maximus Overdrive.
Well Overdrive has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
