The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matrix doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Tyson counters with a good low kick that Matrix was not able to check.
Matrix doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Tyson counters with a slapping leg kick.
Matrix tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Tyson swivels and escapes.
Meldrick Tyson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Matrix.
Matrix shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Tyson sprawls well. Tyson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Matrix gets slowly back to his feet.

and Tyson counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Tyson throws a nice head kick!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Tyson buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Tyson feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Matrix's calf.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Tyson - that will leave a mark!
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Tyson, right into the meat.

Tyson turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Tyson cracks the inside of Matrix's front leg.

Tyson lands a big head kick that sends Matrix tumbling to the mat! Tyson takes a step backwards and waves Matrix back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Matrix is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Tyson lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Matrix can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from Tyson and Matrix drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by Tyson.
