The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gewain misses with a low kick as Nero jumps back.

Nero has taken the fight to the clinch.
Nero is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Gewain is defending well.

Gewain breaks from the clinch.
Gewain tries to bum rush Nero with a series of wild strikes but Nero uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Gewain misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Gewain looks to land a combination but Nero avoids it well.
Nero fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Petar Gewain seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Nero fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Gewain sprawls well initially but Nero persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Nero wants to work for an arm triangle but Gewain is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Nero is looking to take a break and control but Gewain is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gewain is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Nero rolls with it to try and escape but Gewain cranks on the arm and Nero is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
