Forrest Rump told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rez Cortez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Forrest Rump!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Tiny Johnson and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cortez circles away from the clinch attempt.
Cortez throws a right hand that Rump ducks under and follows up with a left that Rump also avoids with ease.

Cortez throws a left that rocks Rump and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Cortez dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Rump regain composure!


Rump is rocked!


It looks like Forrest Rump has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Cortez stands up and beckons Rump to his feet.
Rump is still on wobbly legs! Can Cortez finish him?
Cortez swinging wildly here.
Cortez keeps the fight on the outside.
Rump seems to have recovered his senses.
Cortez misses with a wild combination.

Rump gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Cortez is trying to break the clinch but Rump is controlling him.
Cortez wants to break the clinch but can't.
Cortez wants to break free but Rump has control.
Rump keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Cortez's efforts to push away.
Cortez has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Rump manages to break the clinch.
Cortez moves into range and connects with a jab.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nice sprawl there from Cortez as Rump shoots in.
Cortez is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! Rump hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Rez Cortez!
