PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Simbo Klice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frenchy Fuqua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fuqua comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Diesal Power kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Simbo Klice has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Frenchy Fuqua!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Ian Loll and Elvis Blanc.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fuqua misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Fuqua shoots in for a takedown but Klice shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Klice closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Fuqua prevents a body shot from Klice.
Klice tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Fuqua breaks from the clinch.
Klice misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Fuqua connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Fuqua dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Fuqua swats away the attempt to clinch by Klice.

and Klice counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Good leg kick by Klice there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Fuqua looks for a takedown but Klice sprawls well.

Fuqua tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Klice just stands there and leans against the cage.
Simbo Klice has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frenchy Fuqua.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Klice lands a right hand that snaps the head of Fuqua backwards.

Fuqua swings wildly with an uppercut but Klice uses good head movement to avoid it.
Klice has a couple of punches blocked by Fuqua.
Fuqua wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Klice has him pressed against the cage.

and Fuqua counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Klice thinking.
Klice lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Klice throws a head kick that misses.
Klice takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Klice digs a good body shot into Fuqua's ribs.
Fuqua scores with a crisp jab that stopped Klice in his tracks.
Fuqua throws a chopping leg kick but Klice manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Fuqua tries to keep at a distance but Klice has taken the fight into the clinch.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Klice scores with an uppercut up the middle.

Klice prevents a takedown attempt there.

Klice misses with a hook to the ribs.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Klice wants to get back to striking at distance but Fuqua won't allow it.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Fuqua shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Klice's guard.
Klice looking to hit a scissor sweep but Fuqua is one step ahead there.
Fuqua slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Klice is trying to control Fuqua's posture but Fuqua avoids it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Klice gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Fuqua wants to pass to mount but Klice is defending the position.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Klice wants to get back to his feet.
Klice is trying to control but can't.
Fuqua is trying to control. Klice wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Klice is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Fuqua is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Klice still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Klice has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Klice decides to stand up, so the ref orders Fuqua to his feet.

Klice doesn't manage to clinch there - Fuqua circles away.
Klice lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Fuqua throws a nice looking combination but Klice bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Fuqua throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Klice tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Fuqua is in Klice's guard.

Klice bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Fuqua's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Fuqua has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Klice is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Fuqua.

Klice has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Simbo Klice will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Fuqua uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Klice.
Fuqua ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Klice moves away.
Klice throws a leg kick but Fuqua sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Fuqua is working an open guard so Klice takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Fuqua shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Klice pinned against the cage. Klice gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Klice motions for Fuqua to come forward. Klice throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Fuqua takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Klice walks into a stiff left hand from Fuqua.
Fuqua closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Klice lands a big right hand that sends Fuqua crashing to the mat! Klice stays standing though and waves Fuqua back to his feet!

Fuqua is rocked!
Klice ducks down and throws a big overhand right - it lands flush on the jaw, knocking Fuqua out cold! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Simbo Klice!
