Giovanni has chosen Til I Collapse [ Eminem ] as his entrance music. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Sonny Giovanni enters the cage!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Patterson moves out of range of the body kick.
Giovanni blocks a jab.
Giovanni tries to clinch there but Patterson circles away.
Giovanni misses with a head kick.
Giovanni wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Giovanni tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Patterson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Patterson cracks Giovanni with a right hand to the side of the head.
The fighters circling - Giovanni throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Giovanni misses with an uppercut.
Giovanni misses with a double jab.
A combination from Giovanni does no damage.
Giovanni tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Patterson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Giovanni looks to land a right hand but Patterson moved out of range.
Patterson lands an overhand right.
Giovanni throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Patterson connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Giovanni momentarily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Giovanni moves out of range as Patterson strikes.

Patterson avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Patterson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Patterson checks the leg kick.
Patterson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Giovanni tries to clinch but Patterson moves away
and Patterson counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Patterson is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Giovanni.
Patterson fails to land with a series of punches.
Giovanni keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Patterson.
Patterson misses with an uppercut. Giovanni saw that one coming.
Patterson waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Giovanni.
No joy there for Giovanni, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Giovanni looks to throw the jab but Patterson is out of range.
Giovanni looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Patterson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Giovanni throws a big shot that misses.
Giovanni takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Giovanni jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Giovanni staying out of range there.
Giovanni throws out a leg kick but Patterson moves out of range and Giovanni only half commits.
Patterson throws the left hand but Giovanni avoids the punch easily.
Patterson is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Giovanni connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

It looks like Hank Patterson has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Patterson lands with an overhand left.
Giovanni bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Patterson's head backwards.
A jab lands there for Giovanni.

Patterson is rocked!
Patterson wants to clinch up but Giovanni keeps it at a distance.
Oh Patterson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Giovanni fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Patterson, pushing him back against the cage.
Giovanni pushes Patterson back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Giovanni taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Giovanni dips a shoulder and cracks Patterson with a mighty uppercut! Patterson falls back against the cage and Giovanni unloads with a barrage of strikes! Patterson is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Giovanni screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
