Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mark Dunn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergiy Sklyar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dunn comes to the cage accompanied by Diary of a Madman. Sklyar has chosen Scarface - No Tears as his entrance music. Mark Dunn has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Dunn!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sergiy Sklyar!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Gwen Towbar and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sklyar gets the takedown into side control.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Dunn is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Sklyar wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dunn keeps working.
Dunn is looking for a sweep.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dunn has his foot on Sklyar's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sklyar works his way back into a safe position though.

Dunn is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Sklyar defends well.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Sklyar connects with a nice short shot to Dunn's temple.

Sklyar looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Dunn with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Sklyar winds up and cracks Dunn with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Sklyar is nestled in close to Dunn, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Sklyar looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dunn tries to roll over but Sklyar keeps him under control.
Sklyar is keen to just control but Dunn is a slippery customer.

Dunn has hold of Sklyar's hands but Sklyar slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Sklyar looks up at the clock and then as Dunn takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Sklyar smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Dunn tries to improve position but can't.
Dunn takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Sklyar lands some shots froms side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sergiy Sklyar dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Dunn fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Sklyar has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Sklyar throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Dunn jabs Sklyar to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Sklyar swings for the body but Dunn moves out of range.
Sklyar stuffs the takedown.
Dunn ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sklyar moves away.
Dunn keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Sklyar throws a right and a left that both miss.
A clash of legs there as Dunn blocks the low kick.
Sklyar just misses with a punch to the body.
Dunn throws a nice inside leg kick.
Dunn throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Sklyar stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Dunn misses with a hook. Sklyar ducked under it nicely.
Dunn tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sklyar paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Sklyar will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Dunn tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Sklyar manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Sklyar got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dunn has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sklyar has managed to get both his arms back between Dunn's legs - danger averted.
