Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Darren Lockyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodimus Prime (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Darren Lockyer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rodimus Prime!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Frank Dennis and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lockyer gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Lockyer breaks the clinch.
Prime throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Lockyer shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Lockyer was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Lockyer is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Prime is surviving well by controlling Lockyer's body position as best he can.
Prime wants to control but Lockyer is having none of it.
Prime is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Prime is wriggling around trying to escape.
Lockyer throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Prime because Lockyer loaded up on that one.
Lockyer controlling the pace for now.

Prime tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Lockyer trying to control but Prime is having none of it.
Lockyer unloads with some shots from mount but Prime bucks and avoids them well.
Poor strikes thrown by Lockyer there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Lockyer stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Prime using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Lockyer has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Lockyer has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Prime uses from the top position.
Lockyer is adopting a defensive guard.

Prime drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Prime jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Lockyer will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Lockyer is looking to stand up but Prime isn't so interested in that idea.
Prime looking to pass the guard.

Prime drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Lockyer dives on top into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lockyer in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Lockyer is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lockyer gets to his feet. Prime looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Lockyer throws a body kick that misses.
Prime leaves Lockyer with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Lockyer throws the kick towards the body but Prime avoids it.
Lockyer walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Prime checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Prime looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lockyer is fending him off so far but Prime persists. Nope, Lockyer circles away and we're back to standing.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Prime is defended easily by Lockyer.
Prime looks gassed!
Lockyer misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

A head kick misses from Lockyer.
No luck for Lockyer with that takedown attempt.
Lockyer shoots in but Prime avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Darren Lockyer. That's going to take a lot out of him.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Lockyer.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lockyer tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Prime manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Prime tries to clinch up but Lockyer circles away and keeps his distance.
Lockyer lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Prime backs up against the cage.


It looks like Rodimus Prime has been cut.
Prime stuffs the takedown.
Lockyer shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Prime but Prime pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Lockyer fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Darren Lockyer. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lockyer looks to land a combination but Prime avoids it well.

Darren Lockyer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Prime defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Lockyer.

Lockyer moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Lockyer lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Lockyer.
Prime stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Prime wants it to stay on the feet.

Lockyer forces Prime back against the cage and clinches.
Prime takes an elbow to the temple.
Lockyer just leaning against Prime, taking a breather.
Prime looks to throw an elbow but misses.

Prime is looking to take this one to the mat.
Prime goes for a takedown attempt but Lockyer pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Prime is breathing heavily.

Lockyer scores a takedown into full mount!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Lockyer working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

Lockyer sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Prime avoids a series of strikes thrown by Lockyer.

Prime tries to lock up and control but Lockyer gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Prime is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Lockyer throwing strikes here but Prime is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Prime manages to regain half guard whilst avoiding the strikes.

Prime takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Prime is squirming around, avoiding Lockyer's attempts to control the action.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Lockyer has hold of Prime's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Prime manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Lockyer has control of Prime's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Prime regains control of the situation pretty easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Rodimus Prime's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Lockyer closes the distance and pushes Prime back into the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Prime tries for a takedown. No joy.

Lockyer manages to break the clinch.
Lockyer connects with an inside leg kick.
Prime takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Lockyer shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Prime as he avoids it easily.

Lockyer rushes Prime and presses him up against the cage.

Lockyer is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Prime trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Prime working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Prime's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Lockyer manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Lockyer changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Prime tries to avoid it but Lockyer manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Prime to the ground. Prime escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Darren Lockyer. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Lockyer takes the fight into the clinch.
Lockyer gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Prime.

Lockyer pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Lockyer shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Prime as he avoids it easily.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lockyer has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Prime after a bit of a struggle.
Prime is working for takedown but Lockyer is calmly controlling the position for now.
Prime drops down looking for an ankle pick but Lockyer pulls his leg out and moves away.
Prime slaps away a takedown attempt from Lockyer, before circling back to the center of the mat.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lockyer throws a leg kick but Prime moved away.
Lockyer tries to bum rush Prime with a series of wild strikes but Prime uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
A low kick from Lockyer is predictable there

and Prime counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Lockyer!
Lockyer bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Darren Lockyer overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Prime is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Lockyer stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Prime swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Lockyer not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Prime displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lockyer.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rodimus Prime has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Darren Lockyer is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
