Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Olubowale Folarin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tsuyoshi Tamatso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Olubowale Folarin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tsuyoshi Tamatso!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yuuki Gou and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tamatso lands with a kick to the ribs.
Tamatso is looking to clinch but Folarin is avoiding it.
Tamatso lands a jab to Folarin's midsection.
A thudding body kick lands there by Tamatso!
Folarin looks to score with a jab to the body but Tamatso is just out of range.
Folarin throws a low kick but Tamatso avoids it.
Tamatso throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Folarin.
Folarin pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
A nice leg kick lands there from Tamatso.
Tamatso misses the shot to the body.
Folarin avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Folarin cracks Tamatso with a good jab.
Folarin scores with a sloppy right hand. Tamatso should have avoided that one.

Tsuyoshi Tamatso seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Folarin thows a body shot but no joy.
Tamatso bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Folarin drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
A decent looking cross lands there for Folarin.
Tamatso uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Folarin throws the left hand but Tamatso avoids the punch easily.
Tamatso throws a low kick but it's checked well by Folarin.

and Tamatso counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Tamatso rushes Folarin and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.

Folarin's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Tamatso keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Tamatso.
Folarin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Tamatso moves away.

Tamatso closes the distance and pushes Folarin back into the ropes.

Tamatso jumps guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Folarin wants to control from the top but Tamatso keeps moving.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Folarin is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Tamatso is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Tamatso is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Folarin is fighting to break Tamatso's control of his arms but Tamatso is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Tamatso's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Folarin is looking to chop away at Tamatso's legs.
Tamatso lands a leg kick that knocks Folarin off balance momentarily.
Folarin takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Tamatso lands with a thumping leg kick.
Tamatso takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Nice uppercut lands for Tamatso. That snapped Folarin's head back.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Tamatso.

and Tamatso cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Tamatso throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Tamatso fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Folarin.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Folarin lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Folarin closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Tamatso's guard.
Tamatso manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Folarin manages to get himself to full guard.

Folarin is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Tamatso defends well.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Folarin has his foot on Tamatso's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Tamatso works his way back into a safe position though.

Tamatso is working Folarin over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Tamatso is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Folarin sees it coming and defends easily.

Folarin is breathing heavily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Tamatso lands an elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tsuyoshi Tamatso dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Folarin takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Folarin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Tamatso moves away.
Tamatso throws a series of strikes that have Folarin backpedaling.


It looks like Olubowale Folarin has been cut.
Tamatso punishes Folarin's body with a nice straight punch.
Tamatso cracks the inside of Folarin's front leg.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Folarin wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Tamatso wants the takedown. Folarin is fighting it off but Tamatso persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Folarin's guard against the ropes.
This has been an exciting period of action!

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Tamatso looks up at the clock and then as Folarin takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Tamatso smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Tamatso has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Folarin!
Tamatso has his opponent pinned against the ropes, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Folarin's face.


Folarin is rocked!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Tamatso lands with some strikes.
Oh Folarin is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Tamatso postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Folarin looks a forlorn figure.

A relieved looking Tsuyoshi Tamatso thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
