Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Zaine Lovell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jethro Gibbs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Zaine Lovell!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jethro Gibbs!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Winston Howard and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lovell keeps the fight on the outside.
Lovell throws a head kick but Gibbs moves out of range.
Lovell misses with a combination
and Gibbs counters with a right hand to the body.
Lovell avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Gibbs fails to land the takedown.
Lovell tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Lovell lands with a nice combination. Gibbs backs away looking to recover.


It looks like Jethro Gibbs has been cut.

Gibbs should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Gibbs lands with a straight right. Lovell didn't see that one coming.
Gibbs avoids the head kick by Lovell.

Lovell forces Gibbs back against the cage and clinches.
Lovell lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Gibbs is trying to break the clinch but Lovell has him pressed against the cage.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Lovell.

Lovell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gibbs on the ground.

Gibbs is working an open guard so Lovell takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Lovell feints a jab promting Gibbs to slip. Lovell then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Gibbs slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Lovell looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Gibbs wants to control but Lovell is keeping busy.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gibbs looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Lovell is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Gibbs slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Gibbs keeping moving, preventing Lovell from controlling successfully.

Gibbs is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lovell defends well.

Lovell with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Gibbs wants to stand up but Lovell is controlling him.
Lovell is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Gibbs is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Gibbs is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Gibbs throws a strike but Lovell rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Gibbs is looking for a triangle but Lovell pushes his legs off easily.
Lovell has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lovell keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Gibbs's head.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Lovell throws a big elbow that misses.

Lovell stands up and waves to Gibbs to follow him.

Gibbs shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Lovell defends it nicely.
Lovell jabs Gibbs right on the nose. Gibbs blinks but takes it well.
Lovell connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Lovell plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

Gibbs has a takedown stuffed.
Zaine Lovell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jethro Gibbs.
Gibbs is breathing heavily.
Gibbs is looking to clinch but Lovell is avoiding it.
Lovell misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Gibbs shoots for a takedown but Lovell saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Lovell landing strikes from the mount and Gibbs is in trouble!

Gibbs is looking to improve his position but Lovell isn't that keen on the idea.

Lovell goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Gibbs turns into him and now he's in Lovell's guard.

Gibbs is looking to stand up but Lovell won't let him.
Lovell pulls Gibbs in close to prevent any damage.
This has been an exciting period of action!
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lovell is on top in guard.

Lovell decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Lovell connects with an inside leg kick.
Gibbs shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lovell pinned against the cage. Lovell gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Gibbs misses with a takedown attempt
and Lovell cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Lovell scores with a hook to the body. Gibbs takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Lovell displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Lovell lands a brutal head kick. Gibbs looks out on his feet and Lovell throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:20 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick and Punches). Zaine Lovell!
Zaine Lovell retains his heavyweight title!
