Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Calvin Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trent Strope (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Calvin Carter!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Trent Strope!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Yukihiro Shimada and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter throws a head kick that misses.
Carter lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Strope tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Carter was well out of range. Poor timing from Strope.
Strope throws a jab but it's blocked by Carter.
Carter plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Carter dodges the punch combination from Strope.
A telegraphed right hand from Strope misses the target.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Carter, as that shot connected.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Strope tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Carter paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Strope fails to land with a series of punches.
Strope scores with a decent looking hook.
Strope keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Carter.
Carter goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
The fighters circling - Strope throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Carter defending well as Strope loads up on a big left hand.
A punch lands to the side of Strope 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Strope scores with a jab. Carter acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Strope gets cracked there but stands up to it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Carter avoids a punch combination nicely.
Strope on the wrong end of a kick to the body.

Carter has closed the distance and engaged Strope in a clinch.
Strope tries to break the clinch but Carter is controlling the position.
Strope misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Carter has Strope pushed against the cage.
Strope struggles to land a body shot inside as Carter controls his hands.
Strope is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Strope is trying to force a seperation but Carter has the dominant position.
Carter working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Carter lands a right hand that snaps the head of Strope backwards.


Strope is rocked!
Carter unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Strope! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Carter is unloading with more strikes now! Strope drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Calvin Carter!
Calvin Carter retains his middleweight title!
A very excited looking Calvin Carter made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
