Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Shaka Zulu!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, David Schapiro and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shields looks to throw the jab but Zulu is out of range.
Left hook, right uppercut from Zulu.
Zulu ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Shields avoids a punch combination nicely.
A swing and a miss from Shields.
Zulu swinging wildly here.
Zulu lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Shields moves in looking to clinch but Zulu pushes him off.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Zulu tries to break the clinch but Shields is controlling the position.
Shields tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Zulu smiles and moves away.
Shields fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Zulu manages to avoid it.
Shields throws a hook but Zulu blocks it.
Shields misses with an uppercut.
Zulu throws a series of punches but Shields moves out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Shields bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Zulu is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Shields is controlling him well.
Zulu gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Zulu trying desperately to get to his feet.
Shields throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Zulu wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Shields has control of Zulu's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Zulu regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Zulu wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Shields.
Shields lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Shields can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Zulu is looking to escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round.

Shields lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Shields looking to control but Zulu is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
The referee warns Zulu that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Shields looking to isolate an arm here. Zulu doesn't see it coming and as Shields extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Shields!

A relieved looking Nick Shields thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
