The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nickson wants to clinch but Els slips to the side
and Els counters with a low kick, right behind Nickson 's knee.
Nickson closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Nickson fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Nickson is looking to clinch but Els is avoiding it.

and Els counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Els.
Els stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Els lands a hook to the side of the head.
Nickson lands a left hand.

Els pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Nickson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Nickson walks into a left hand.

Els lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Nickson rushes Els and presses him up against the cage.
With the fighters up against the cage, Nickson throws an elbow but misses.

Els manages to break the clinch.
Els lands with a good body shot.
Nickson walks into a jab.
Els goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

It looks like Johan Nickson has been cut.
Els showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Nickson.
Nice jab there from Els.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nickson chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Els can pounce on him.
Nickson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Nickson closes the distance but Els moves to the side
and Els makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Els throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Els connects with a leg kick. Nickson looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Els scoring well with a low kick there.
Nickson wants to clinch but Els slips to the side
and Els counters with a huge left! Nickson is in big trouble! He's backing up but Els isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Nickson from any more damage. A dominating finish by Els!
