Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cormac Gutz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Horton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gutz's entrance music is Everyday. A fine choice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cormac Gutz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tim Horton!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Stewart Dunkirk and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gutz is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
A solid leg kick lands there for Gutz.

Horton is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Gutz can't fight it off and eventually Horton manages to take the fight to the floor. Gutz looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Horton wants to control from the top but Gutz keeps moving.

Horton drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Gutz manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Horton has Gutz in his guard.
Horton is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Gutz is looking for a sweep. Horton is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Horton is looking for a kimura but Gutz is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Horton to get the leverage.

Horton is working for a kimura here but Gutz manages to reverse the position and he's now in Horton's guard.

Horton looking for a sweep. Not yet Horton, not yet.

Horton had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Gutz defends it easily.

Horton looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Horton seems keen to control Gutz's posture.

Horton not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Horton has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Gutz has passed into side control.

Horton gets back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gutz is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Gutz tries to stand but can't do so whilst Horton controls his leg.

Horton has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gutz is working away from the top position though.
Gutz knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Horton on the ground.
Horton tries to get to full guard but Gutz has control of the leg.
Horton is looking to control Gutz's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Horton avoid being mounted?
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Horton looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Gutz is fending him off so far but Horton persists. Nope, Gutz circles away and we're back to standing.
Gutz lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Gutz throws a shot from downtown. Horton moves away and avoids it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tim Horton dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Horton tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Gutz swivels and escapes.
Gutz walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Horton checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Gutz looks to land a body kick but Horton moved away.
Horton shoots for a takedown but Gutz saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Gutz cracks Horton with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Gutz uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Horton.
Horton fails with a takedown attempt.
Cormac Gutz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tim Horton.

Cormac Gutz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Horton gets a double leg takedown into Gutz's guard.
Horton trying to control the position from guard on top but Gutz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Gutz is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Horton drops back, looking for a kneebar! Gutz looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Gutz looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Gutz!

Horton is looking to regain half guard here but Gutz keeps moving and retains side control.
Horton is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Gutz off and has taken his back!

Horton working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.

Horton is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Gutz won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Horton off his unconscious opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Tim Horton!
