Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Blake Edwards (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Vargtass (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Edwards comes into the arena with Like a surgeon blaring out of the sound system. Vargtass is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Torparrock. Richard Vargtass will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Ben Zyskovitsi and Marco Blurström.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edwards throws a head kick but Vargtass moves out of range.
Edwards throws a sloppy body shot
and Vargtass counters with a nice uppercut.

It looks like Blake Edwards has been cut.
Edwards avoids a punch combination nicely.
Decent striking displayed by Vargtass there.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Edwards stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Vargtass swivels though and keeps the full guard.

It looks like Richard Vargtass has been cut.
Edwards wants to control from the top but Vargtass keeps moving.

Vargtass is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Edwards cracks Vargtass with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Edwards feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Vargtass's calf.
Edwards dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Vargtass. That did some damage!

Vargtass takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

That has opened up Richard Vargtass's cut even more.

Edwards moves into range and clinches up with Vargtass.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Edwards creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Vargtass can't find room to land a body shot as Edwards controls the action.

Edwards tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Vargtass avoids it.
Edwards lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Vargtass backwards.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Blake Edwards dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Edwards punishes Vargtass's body with a nice straight punch.
Vargtass ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Edwards shoots for a takedown but Vargtass saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Edwards tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Vargtass was well out of range. Poor timing from Edwards.

Vargtass throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Edwards looks for the body kick but Vargtass saw that one coming.
Vargtass ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Edwards moves away.
Vargtass does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Vargtass shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Edwards here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Edwards avoids the head kick by Vargtass.
Vargtass tries to land a front kick but Edwards steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
