Jackson Savage acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A momentary lapse in concentration from Herzog enables Savage to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Herzog manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Savage drops back looking for a leg! Herzog is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Herzog manages to kick Savage off! Savage jumps back into Herzog's guard.
Herzog working for a triangle but Savage defends it easily.
Herzog pulls Savage in close to prevent any damage.
Savage passes Herzog's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Savage is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Herzog is trying to maintain the position but Savage is very close to passing his half guard.
Savage seems to be working for a kimura but Herzog defends the submission attempt.
Savage is trying to work for a kimura but Herzog is defending well.
Savage is looking to take a break and control but Herzog is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Herzog tries to roll over but Savage keeps him under control.
Herzog is trying to stand back up but Savage is controlling him
Herzog has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Savage. Oh but Herzog has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Savage goes limp - he's gone! Herzog jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
