PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rickson Hack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Draven (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rickson Hack!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Adam Draven!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Frank Dennis and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hack lands a jab to Draven's midsection.

Hack clinches with his opponent.
Hack has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Draven is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Hack manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Hack really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Draven postures up in Hack's guard and throws a big left but Hack blocks it.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Adam Draven hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Hack tries to sprawl but Draven drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Hack has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Draven is working away from the top position though.

Hack shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Draven as he jumps to the side.

Draven tries to bum rush Hack with a series of wild strikes but Hack uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Draven closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Hack quickly recovers to half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hack is trying to maintain the position but Draven is very close to passing his half guard.

Draven thows a huge punch but Hack dodges it nicely.

Draven really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hack. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Draven connects with a nice short shot to Hack's temple.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Draven throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Hack tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Draven is in Hack's guard.

Draven might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Hack kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Draven is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Adam Draven wasn't active enough on the ground.

Draven rushes Hack and presses him up against the cage.
Draven has Hack pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Hack manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Draven blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Draven has had enough of the clinch but Hack keeps him there for the moment.
Draven jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hack walks away with a smile on his face. Draven gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rickson Hack. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Draven stands up and beckons Hack to join him on the feet.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Draven shoots in but no luck this time.
Adam Draven seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hack gets cracked there but stands up to it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Draven bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Draven wants to control the pace but Hack is squirming around nicely.

Draven is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Hack is surviving well by controlling Draven's body position as best he can.
Hack takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Draven has control of Hack's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Hack regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Draven is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Hack is surviving well by controlling Draven's body position as best he can.

Draven postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Hack looks a forlorn figure.
Draven breaks from Hack's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Draven jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Hack manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Check out the look on Draven's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Draven creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Hack sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Adam Draven showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Adam Draven is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
