PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Panch Villa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeff Mad Cow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Villa might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Pancho Villa. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Panch Villa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jeff Mad Cow!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Ryoma Takatsuka and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mad Cow displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Villa.

Villa gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Mad Cow is trying to pull guard but Villa has him pressed against the cage.

Villa missing with knees to the body.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Mad Cow.
Mad Cow swings wildly with an uppercut but Villa uses good head movement to avoid it.

Villa throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Mad Cow blocks it with crossed arms.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mad Cow lands with a left to the head.
Villa content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Mad Cow tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Villa just stands there and leans against the cage.
Villa tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Mad Cow avoids it.
Villa controlling the action here for a moment.
Villa really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Villa is fighting off a takedown attempt but Mad Cow is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Villa to the mat. Villa regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Villa looking for a sweep. Not yet Villa, not yet.
Villa will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Villa is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Mad Cow wants to pass the guard but Villa is keeping the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Villa working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mad Cow doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mad Cow manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Villa is looking to sinch up a triangle. Mad Cow throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Villa's body to avoid the submission. Villa has instead reached around Mad Cow's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Villa arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Panch Villa!
