Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Joseph (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cain Slyker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Slyker has chosen It's Amazing by Kanye West as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Joseph!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cain Slyker!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Russell Pearce and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slyker misses the jab.
Joseph shoots for a takedown but Slyker saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Cain Slyker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Joseph is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Slyker defends well.

Slyker throws a strike but Joseph rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Slyker is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Joseph is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Slyker gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Joseph working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Slyker doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Slyker manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Joseph's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Slyker closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Joseph is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Slyker is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Slyker cracks Joseph with a big right hand but Joseph just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
