The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Overpeen rushes Zegan and presses him up against the cage.
Overpeen tries to pull guard but Zegan holds him up against the cage and eventually Overpeen drops back down to his feet.
Overpeen on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Zegan is trying to break free.
Overpeen wants a takedown.

Zegan manages to break the clinch.
Maciej Zegan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Zegan scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Zegan gets a clinch.
Overpeen is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Zegan to keep the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Julio Overpeen. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Zegan works on Overpeen's body with a couple of short punches.

Overpeen wants to get back to striking at distance but Zegan won't allow it.

Overpeen tries to pull guard but Zegan forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Zegan.

Zegan escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Overpeen misses the body punch
and Zegan makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Overpeen is breathing heavily.

Zegan lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Overpeen backs up against the cage.

Overpeen is rocked!

Zegan moves into the clinch.
Oh Overpeen is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Zegan pushes Overpeen against the cage. Zegan is working some dirty boxing. Zegan pushes off with a quick right hook! Overpeen goes down! Overpeen tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Zegan moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
