Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Spar Bjj (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryuken Yanagi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Steve Erwin and Summer Carpenter.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bjj slips under a jab from Yanagi.
Bjj shoots for a takedown but Yanagi saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Yanagi just misses with a punch to the body.
Bjj shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Yanagi misses with a looping left.
Bjj ducks under a wild hook from Yanagi.
Yanagi misses the jab.
Yanagi throws a hook to the side of Bjj's head but Bjj sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Yanagi throws a hook but Bjj blocks it.
Yanagi is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Bjj.

Yanagi throws a body punch but Bjj moves out of range.
Bjj uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Yanagi.

Bjj shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Yanagi defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Bjj.

Bjj looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Bjj is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Yanagi can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bjj has control of Yanagi's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Yanagi regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bjj looking for a guillotine from mount but Yanagi is having none of it.
Bjj prevents Yanagi from getting the reversal.
Bjj lands a big shot there that rocks Yanagi but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Bjj wants to finish this one by submission but Yanagi is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Bjj.

Bjj working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Yanagi looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Bjj! Submission of the night perhaps?
