The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kuklinski throws a head kick that misses.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Kuklinski.
The fight stays on the outside here - Lavonia looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Lavonia takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Kuklinski looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

and Kuklinski counters with a shoot takedown. Lavonia fights it but they end up in guard.
Lavonia manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Kuklinski holds on to Lavonia around his waist, trying desperately to prevent any attacks.
Kuklinski is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Lavonia wants to free his trapped foot but Kuklinski is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Lavonia seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kuklinski does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lavonia really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kuklinski. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Kuklinski shoots for a double leg takedown but Lavonia sprawls well. He's pushed Kuklinski's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kuklinski throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lavonia's waist but Lavonia gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kuklinski off to one side.
Kuklinski will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Kuklinski is trying to maintain a safe position but Lavonia gets an underhook and turns Kuklinski into the cage.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Kuklinski here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Kuklinski closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Lavonia's guard.

Kuklinski is looking to sinch up a triangle. Lavonia throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Kuklinski's body to avoid the submission. Kuklinski has instead reached around Lavonia's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Kuklinski arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

A relieved looking Fedor Kuklinski thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
