And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 4 - 1, fighting out of New York, Aaron Davidson!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Reed Andrews and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Katsumoto throws a half hearted mid kick.
Katsumoto looks to throw the jab but Davidson is out of range.
Davidson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Katsumoto pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Davidson avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Katsumoto blocks a head kick by Davidson.
A slapping leg kick lands for Katsumoto.
Davidson lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Katsumoto misses with a low kick.
Davidson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Davidson uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Katsumoto has time to react.

Katsumoto closes the distance and pushes Davidson back into the cage.
Davidson tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Davidson wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Katsumoto lands an elbow inside that Davidson shrugs off.


It looks like Aaron Davidson has been cut.

Davidson manages to break the clinch.
Davidson throws a sloppy head kick and Katsumoto moves out of range easily.
Katsumoto is looking to chop away at Davidson's legs.
Davidson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Katsumoto connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Katsumoto misses with a body kick.
Katsumoto throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Davidson checks a low kick from Katsumoto.

and Davidson counters with a leg kick.

Katsumoto lands with a kick to the temple. Davidson shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Davidson lands with a slapping head kick.
Davidson tries a head kick but it misses.
Davidson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Davidson counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
A solid body kick from Katsumoto.
Davidson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Davidson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Katsumoto buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Davidson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Katsumoto.
Katsumoto slips under a jab.
Nice shot lands for Katsumoto.
Katsumoto bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Davidson's head backwards.
Katsumoto connects with a leg kick. Davidson looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Davidson throws a head kick that half lands.
Davidson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Davidson swats away the attempt to clinch by Katsumoto.
Davidson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Katsumoto cracks Davidson with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Davidson throws the left hand but Katsumoto avoids the punch easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd cheers as Davidson lands an impressive looking overhand right. Katsumoto doesn't seem phased though.
Katsumoto fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Davidson on the side of the head.

Katsumoto has taken the fight to the clinch.
Katsumoto lands a nice uppercut.


Davidson is rocked!
With the fighters up against the cage, Katsumoto throws an elbow but misses.
Davidson is still on wobbly legs! Can Katsumoto finish him?
Katsumoto misses with an elbow over the top.
Katsumoto throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Katsumoto jerks Davidson's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Davidson drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Katsumoto goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Katsumoto because Davidson was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knee). Takashi Katsumoto!
Takashi Katsumoto bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
