PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shawn Sheep (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Liam Lasher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sheep comes into the arena with Slipknot blaring out of the sound system. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Shawn Sheep!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Liam Lasher!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Edson Gomes and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lasher throws a body punch but Sheep moves out of range.
Lasher throws a right and a left that Sheep avoids nicely.
Lasher closes the distance and pushes Sheep back into the cage.
Lasher jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Sheep walks away with a smile on his face. Lasher gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Lasher just misses with a punch to the body.
Lasher with a nice cross.
Lasher misses with the combination.
Lasher on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Sheep tries to keep at a distance but Lasher has taken the fight into the clinch.
Sheep will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Lasher up against the cage.
Nice elbow from Sheep.
It looks like Liam Lasher has been cut.
Sheep lands an elbow just above Lasher 's eye.
Sheep lands a hook that snaps the head of Lasher backwards.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sheep stops a takedown attempt from Lasher.
Sheep lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
That has opened up Liam Lasher's cut even more.
Sheep lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Sheep's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Sheep.
The cut above Liam Lasher's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Lasher is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Sheep pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Shawn Sheep has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Liam Lasher.
Sheep stalling against the cage.
Lasher fails to pull guard.
Lasher pulls guard.
Sheep stands up from guard. Let's bang!
A left and a right from Sheep both land. Nice combination.
Sheep's corner calls for a 1-2. Sheep obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Lasher fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sheep, pushing him back against the cage.
Lasher drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sheep gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Liam Lasher's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Liam Lasher's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Shawn Sheep!
During a confident post fight interview, Shawn Sheep thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
