Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dillion Brody!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Donatello Bradman and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Brody. No joy for Blankenship on that attempt.
Blankenship scores with a nice body kick.
Brody throws a series of punches but Blankenship avoids them all with ease.
Brody throws a combination that misses
and Blankenship counters with a head kick. That will keep Brody thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Blankenship avoids a punch combination nicely.
Dillion Brody seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brody swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Blankenship counters with an outside leg kick.

The fighters circle momentarily. Brody darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.


It looks like Kenny Blankenship has been cut.
Brody throws a right and a left that both miss.

Blankenship closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Blankenship controls the position.

Blankenship is trying to get an arm triangle but Brody is defending well.

Blankenship is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Brody has escaped the position, nice work there.

Blankenship creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Brody sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Blankenship content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Blankenship is trying to get an arm triangle but Brody is defending well.
Blankenship remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Brody throws a series of punches but Blankenship avoids them all with ease.
Brody slaps away a takedown attempt from Blankenship, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Brody looks to land a combination but Blankenship avoids it well.
Brody lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Blankenship backs up against the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

and Blankenship counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Blankenship is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Brody gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Blankenship breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Blankenship scores with a nice right hand.
Blankenship thumps Brody with a low kick.
Brody misses with a wild combination.

and Blankenship counters with a leg kick.

Blankenship closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Brody's guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Blankenship sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Brody's guard.

Blankenship stands up out of the half guard.
Blankenship shoots in for a takedown but Brody shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Brody throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Blankenship holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Blankenship lands a damaging elbow.
Blankenship is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Brody is defending well.

Blankenship pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Brody throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Blankenship counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Blankenship closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Brody is trying to stand back up but Blankenship is controlling him
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Blankenship decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Dillion Brody is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Brody misses with a combination

and Blankenship counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brody is looking to advance position but Blankenship has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Brody is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Blankenship content just to control the position here.
Brody wants to try and get back to his feet.
Brody is breathing heavily.

Blankenship working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Brody looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Blankenship! Submission of the night perhaps?
