Johnson comes to the cage accompanied by Will T. Bear - For a Few Dollars More. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Luke Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bayani De Guzman!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Yves DeLean and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Guzman leaves Johnson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Johnson closes this distance looking for a takedown but De Guzman circles away.
Johnson takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Johnson drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
De Guzman wants to get back to his feet but Johnson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
De Guzman is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Johnson dives into side control.
De Guzman is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
De Guzman parries the strikes from Johnson easily there. Johnson is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable De Guzman to escape.

Johnson tries for a kimura but De Guzman is defending well.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Johnson passes to full mount! That's big trouble for De Guzman!
De Guzman really wants to buck Johnson off and get back to his feet.
Johnson lands with some strikes.
Johnson throws some wild stikes that De Guzman manages to avoid easily.
Johnson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as De Guzman is looking to escape.
Johnson fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

De Guzman defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Johnson.

De Guzman bucks up and throws Johnson to the side - he's got back to his feet. Great escape!

De Guzman bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Johnson punishes De Guzman's body with a nice straight punch.

and De Guzman counters by moving into the clinch.

Johnson makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
De Guzman misses with some punches.

Johnson is looking for a takedown up against the cage. De Guzman gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Luke Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
De Guzman goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
De Guzman lands a shot to the body.
De Guzman misses with a shot to the kidneys.
De Guzman throws a head punch that misses.
De Guzman misses with a hook to the ribs.

De Guzman is trying to maintain a safe position but Johnson gets an underhook and turns De Guzman into the cage.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Johnson blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
De Guzman misses with a short punch on the inside.
De Guzman tries to land knees in the clinch but Johnson avoids the damage to the body.
De Guzman tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
De Guzman has Johnson pressed against the cage.
De Guzman throws a knee to the head but misses.
De Guzman misses with a shot to the kidneys.
De Guzman tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Johnson can't get the takedown.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Johnson.
De Guzman blocks a punch to the side of the head.
De Guzman using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Johnson has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Luke Johnson dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Johnson swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by De Guzman.
Johnson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Johnson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. De Guzman sprawls well initially but Johnson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Johnson takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Johnson controlling the action here.
De Guzman is looking to escape.
Johnson tries to pass the half guard into mount. De Guzman knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Johnson uses his free foot to push down on De Guzman's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for De Guzman.

Johnson landing punches.
Johnson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

De Guzman is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Johnson unloads with some shots from mount but De Guzman bucks and avoids them well.
De Guzman is still in real trouble! Can Johnson finish him?
Johnson throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for De Guzman because Johnson loaded up on that one.
De Guzman seems to have recovered his senses.
Johnson looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

Johnson lands with some vicious ground and pound - can De Guzman hang on?
Johnson thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Luke Johnson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Johnson lands a heavy elbow.
Johnson unloads with some vicious shots from mount and De Guzman wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Johnson celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Luke Johnson!
