Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ghengis Congo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Omaly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Congo comes to the cage accompanied by After the Smoke is Clear. Omaly is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Outside - To Forgive but not Forget . Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Elvis Blanc and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Omaly throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Congo sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Omaly scores with a jab. Congo acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Omaly throws a looping overhand right but Congo ducks down to avoid it.
Congo misses with a wild body shot.
Omaly displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Congo throws out the jab.
Omaly misses with a hook. Congo ducked under it nicely.
Omaly shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Congo defends it nicely.
Omaly shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Congo but Congo pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Omaly takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Omaly shoots for a takedown but Congo saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Ghengis Congo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Omaly.

It looks like Mark Omaly has been cut.

Omaly jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Congo walks away with a smile on his face. Omaly gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Omaly circles away from the clinch attempt.
Omaly throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Congo.
Omaly looks gassed!

Congo closes the distance and pushes Omaly back into the cage.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Congo.
Congo scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Congo tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Congo unloads a knee to the mid-section. Omaly lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Congo scores with a nice hook to the head.

Congo working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Congo lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Congo throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Congo has Omaly pressed against the cage.

Congo can't find room to land a body shot as Omaly controls the action.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Congo steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Omaly.

Omaly fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Congo to the ground. Omaly is now in Congo's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Congo has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Omaly with a flurry of punches that miss.
Congo keeping moving, preventing Omaly from controlling successfully.
Omaly throws a big right hand that misses.
Omaly throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Congo works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

We're going to have a standup here because Ghengis Congo wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Omaly shoots in looking for a takedown. Congo tries to sprawl out of it but Omaly keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Congo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Omaly misses with a straight left.
Congo throws a nice looking combination but Omaly bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Congo misses with a lunging right hand

and Omaly counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Congo!
Congo tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Omaly throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.

Omaly throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Omaly looking to finish with strikes here!
Congo holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Omaly tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Omaly wants to control the pace but Congo is squirming around nicely.

Omaly throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Omaly lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Congo hang on?

Omaly working some short elbows here. He postures up to throw some more ground and pound but Congo slips a leg through to get back to half guard. Nice work.
Omaly looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Congo with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Omaly is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Omaly is stalling here but it's allowed Congo to get half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Omaly not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Omaly throwing shots but Congo is blocking nicely.
Congo wants to get back to full guard.

Omaly changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Congo looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Omaly is trying to ground and pound but Congo uses the momentary lack of control by Omaly to regain half guard.

Omaly is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Congo is looking for a sweep. Omaly is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Omaly looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Omaly is looking to pass Congo's guard but actually Congo recovers to full guard.

Congo wants to sweep here but Omaly controlling him for the moment.
Omaly in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Omaly is pushing down on Congo's leg trying to pass to half guard. Congo is fighting to maintain full guard but Omaly has managed to sneak the leg through.
Congo avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Omaly.
Congo is trying to maintain the position but Omaly is very close to passing his half guard.
Congo is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Omaly looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Omaly misses with a head shot. Congo uses the momentum to regain guard.
Congo keeping full guard, as Omaly tries to pass.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Omaly's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Congo preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Omaly throws a strike but Congo rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Congo trying to control the position from guard on top but Omaly is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Omaly is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Congo blocking the ground and pound attempt from Omaly.
Congo is refusing to be controlled, as Omaly sits in half guard.

Omaly is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Congo is just riding it out for now. Omaly eventually gives up the hold.
Omaly throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

And that's the end of the fight!
Mark Omaly comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Omaly has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
