The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Luis Engracia and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vovichenko misses with a takedown attempt - Salsep sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Vovichenko shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Salsep as he avoids it easily.
Vovichenko ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Salsep moves away.
Salsep tries to close the distance and clinch but Vovichenko swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Rui Salsep has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Karlos Vovichenko.

You get the feeling that Vovichenko really doesn't like being in this position too much.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Vovichenko can do anything to dispel that myth.

Rui Salsep spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
