The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Eddie Farnsworth and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simms closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Simms lands in his opponent's guard.

Leroy manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Leroy fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Leroy looking to secure an arm triangle but Simms defends it well.
Simms is squirming around, avoiding Leroy's attempts to control the action.
Simms is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Leroy wants to finish this one by submission but Simms is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Leroy.

Leroy is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Simms is in real trouble.
Leroy is trying to stick to Simms's back but Simms is turning into Leroy. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Leroy's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Simms.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Leroy is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Simms really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Simms closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Simms is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Leroy has managed to free his arm - good work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
