PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Barnett Trol (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dong Dantes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dong Dantes!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Micheangelo Fripello and Chris Saunders.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trol steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Dantes.

Trol looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Dantes tries to roll over but Trol keeps him under control.
Dantes trying to control but Trol postures up.

Trol is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Dantes really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Trol. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Dantes wants to get back to his feet.

Trol is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Dantes sees it coming and defends easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dantes pushes Trol off looking to stand but Trol dives back in and keeps control.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Trol wants to get back to his feet.
Dantes pushes Trol off but Trol dives into side control.
Trol creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Dantes stuck in half guard on the bottom here.
Trol is looking to take a break and control but Dantes is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Dantes is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Trol working the strikes but Dantes uses the opportunity to regain half guard.

Trol looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Trol is looking to take a break and control but Dantes is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Dantes is trying to maintain the position but Trol is very close to passing his half guard.

We're going to have a standup here because Barnett Trol wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Dantes, as that shot connected.

It looks like Barnett Trol has been cut.
Trol looks to land a left hand but Dantes moved out of range nicely.
Trol misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Trol fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Trol shoots in looking for a takedown but Dantes manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Trol's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Barnett Trol. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Trol is breathing heavily.
Dantes throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Trol takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Dantes with a nice cross.
Dantes cracks a nice hook into Trol's ribs.
Trol on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Dantes misses with a two punch combination.
Dantes lands with a hook. Trol tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Nice jab there from Dantes.
Dantes punishes Trol's body with a nice straight punch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dong Dantes dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Barnett Trol's cut.

Trol walks into a straight right hand from Dantes.
Barnett Trol seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Trol tries to close the distance and clinch up but Dantes swats him away and circles back towards the center.
The fight stays on the outside here - Trol looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Trol takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Trol moves in looking to clinch but Dantes pushes him off.
Dantes throws a shot to the body.
Trol walks into a jab.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Trol fails in his attempt to clinch.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Trol throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Dantes connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Trol is rocked!
Trol is starting to get sloppy and is letting his hands down. Dantes just took advantage and landed a stinging jab. Oh! Now a right hook, right on the button! Trol has gone limp and this one is over!
